Straight Through Processing is the transformation of manual, or silo’ed based processing of information into a cohesive, information sharing, real time event driven enterprise wide system.

Methods to address information sharing between disparate systems start with file sharing, pipe (or sockets) with communication protocols to establish connections between systems (much like the way we use telephones), message queues, through the advent of “middleware” technology like CORBA Tibco, MQSeries, .. the encapsulation enterprise wide components and services.

The evolution of STP continues as the encapsulation of services extends to the corporate infrastructure that delivers the “business” services. For each new application a family of new hardware, software packages (databases, …) and administrative people and procedures must accompany it. The next generation of STP products and Methodologies extracts the physical process and administrative layers of applications into enterprise services. This new area of distributed computing creates “Compute GRIDS” and “Data GRIDS”.

GRIDS allows complex processes to be “Parallelized” for many fold increases of efficiency, extend the life and efficiency of un-used computing power within the hardware and networks already in your organization thus saving money in deployment, maintenance, and administration of systems.
